Since the grubs are in the grass, can I use this on grass?
grubGONE! is more widely used (as a spreadable granular) for grubs feeding in the turf. However, beetleGONE! can be successfully used as well. Either method you choose, make sure to irrigate the area afterwards to deliver the active ingrediant into the root zone where the grubs are feeding.
For Turf Grub Control:beetleGONE! tlc can also be used as a ground spray on your turf from spring to fall to control beetle larvae (grubs). Make
sure the mixed application gets irrigated into the root zone where the grubs are feeding. Mix as indicated above using 2
- 4 oz of beetleGONE! per gallon of water & spray the mixture over 1000 sqft.

How long before the beetles die after applying?
Typically from a few hours to a week. It depends on the species of beetle and also the dose of product ingested. This type of broad window is typical of biologicals. Once the targeted pest has ingested the product by feeding on the foliage (and active ingredient protein) feeding halts as the insects become sick from septicemia/ gut ulcers.

This product worked miracles! I had a huge infestation of Japanese Beatles this summer that were destroying my roses. I tried picking them off but there were so many they would swarm me and get stuck in my hair, etc. YUCK. I did one application of the Beetle Gone and they were literally gone within 48 hours! Next year I will be using this upon seeing the first beetle- hopefully that will prevent the damage I had this year.

Purchased beetleGONE to save my sweet potatoes from a massive Japanese beetle infestation. It was bad that if you rustled the leaves, it sounded like rattlesnakes lived under the vines. Hand-picking was getting to be too much (about 50+ beetles a day that STINK when they die) and I was at my breaking point. Sprayed on a Tuesday night with a 1 gallon pump sprayer and agitated while spraying. I did get some run off despite my best efforts to mist the leaves. The vines were COVERED in Japanese beetles when I sprayed. I poured the rest as a soil drench to catch stragglers. I logged how many living beetles I found the next few days: Wednesday morning/evening: 0 beetles Thursday morning: 3 beetles (probably flew in from another area) Thursday afternoon: 0 beetles Friday: 0 beetles Saturday: 1 beetle (on an unsprayed plant) Sunday: 0 beetles Monday: 1 beetle (on an unsprayed plant) So while it absolutely reeks when opening the bag, spraying, and after it dries, and while it was a bit on the expensive side, it was 100% worth the money. My sweet potatoes have bounced back from being turned into lace doilies and are finally producing new, healthy leaves without damage.
